Washington’s Northern Cascades are striking introduction to jagged peaks and sprawling forests. Trekking through these mountains gives hikers and snowshoers access to a rugged and enchanting wilderness. There are vast vistas and microscopic miracles. In order to truly stop and smell the proverbial roses of walking in a winter wonderland, we recommend strapping a pair of snowshoes to your feet and hitting the trails.
There’s plenty to explore on existing hiking trails that turn into snowshoe access or you can hit Stevens Pass Resort which boasts a network of snowshoeing trails. However, if you are looking for something a bit more remote and peaceful, you can’t beat the backcountry.
